Facebook is gaining increasing interest for SEO and Real Estate SEO in particular. I am going to go over some tips for Real Estate agents to know when marketing on Facebook. Marketing strategies on Facebook can take a little different approach than traditional marketing. On Facebook your content is only effective if it is targeted at a specific audience. No one likes when they are spammed by someone that they have no interest in for a service that has nothing to do with them and since Facebook has a more interactive forum, offending these groups and people on Facebook will cause you to lose credibility and trust.

Today Facebook has over 300 million active members and that number seems to grow exponentially. With 50% of the users logging in every day, marketing on Facebook allows you to reach a large demographic of people with little to no cost to you or your business. This is why SEO and online marketing strategies are changing so dramatically. Keeping up with these trends will be important to marketing campaigns and business professionals around the world.

Create a Professional Account

With almost everyone having an account already it is important to keep your professional and personal account separate. Professional accounts will allow you to only be reached by people that are interested in your services and want to network with you, but If you choose to use your personal as both there are some ways to keep your personal information private. One way to keep people separate is to create separate groups for friends and co workers and edit the settings to see who sees what. Another option is to edit your search settings so you can control who finds you on Facebook. This will allow only personal friends and family to find you and view your profile. But when in doubt, let people see the Limited Profile: When people request you as a friend, but you don’t remember how or where you met, make their default view the limited profile.

Join/Start a Group

With Facebook Groups, you can join and create up to 200 groups. Groups can be based around shared interests, activities, or anything you like. Joining these groups will allow you to discuss information and advertise with a targeted audience that can provide you with feedback and reviews on your discussion and comments. Doing these things will allow you to get your name out and thus increasing your online presence.

Event Invitations

Members of Facebook groups can create event invitations that allow people to RSVP to. A good example of this would be for open houses. Creating this invitation will allow potential buyers to view pictures and a description before even stepping foot in the house. This strategy can be useful but avoid sending a lot of these since they send an email to every invitee’s inbox. Choose to do this maybe twice a month rather than for every house and you can avoid driving off potential buyers with annoying emails.  You can even set up specific groups based on their geography or socio-economic status and only invite them to an event
