When we speak about branding, as it relates to Real Estate SEO we are speaking in online terms that encompass the realm that is spoken of as social media marketing. When we speak about social media marketing, it is just like any marketing you would do for your business on a local level through your newspaper or community efforts only this is about promoting your website and yourself on line via Facebook, ActiveRain or Stumbled Upon, Twitter, YouTube, Yahoo Answers, and various real estate forums. Over the past few years we have seen that this method has worked exceedingly well for generating interest in a website and driving targeted traffic.

The best part about social media marketing is that it is basically free, other than your time investment but it can bring in a high volume of traffic in a short period of time. When we begin social marketing in this fashion, not only are we branding ourselves and our real estate market know how, but we are also building, all important backlinks to our sites. This of course can only help increase a site’s ranking. Most of the popular social media sites have very high page ranks, so this makes them invaluable resources for building backlinks and authority to your site.

These sites cannot be under estimated as there are thousands of visitors to these sites at any given time so that would mean a fair number of these visitors reading your posts will probably become interested in what you have to offer.

In this case as you promote your site on these platforms all it really takes is a few people to become interested in it and they become targeted prospects when they arrive at your site. In some cases they may even share your site and information with others that are interested in what you are speaking about. This is called going viral, if those folks then turn around and share your site with even more people. Before it’s all said and done, if you have written a timely, interesting or helpful post, then it is possible that you can get thousands of hits to your site in no time at all.

The next question to then ask is have you set up your personal profiles on Facebook or other relevant real estate forums where prospects go to find answers to questions about moving or real estate in general?  It is of value, in this international market place to set up special profiles about your website and your area of expertise. If you are spending money on local marketing efforts then it makes sense to spend time on marketing for free on the Internet, after all, there are people out there, worldwide, that may be looking for homes in your area, every day, so why not use social media marketing methods for this purpose?

At this point it is important that you include a link back to your site for that all important bump from the backlink created. In some cases one of your articles or posts just might get on the front page on any of these sites and then that will in turn pull in quite a bit more traffic each day.
